Contemporary Kitchen Manly
Coastal Kitchen Design
The clients are a professional couple with two young active boys living in a large three bedroom art deco apartment above the hub of Manly.
The brief was to create a relaxed contemporary kitchen suitable for casual beachside living with a visual nod to the heritage of the art deco building.
This fusion was created through the use of:
- Beautiful curved cabinets & benchtops.
- Oyster grey Absolute Matte & Rural oak Laminex cabinets.
- Slightly industrial Armac Martin Abar (antique silver) T bar handles.
- Gunmetal / black tapware, sink, cooktop & flush powerpoints – reminisent of Bakerlite art deco fittings.
- The materials selection created an organic palette that reflects the nature of the surrounding coastal Manly Beach.
The kitchen & living area required an abundance of storage in particular for fresh food & pantry items. This was achieved by taking the cabinetry up to the ceiling & integrating the appliances.
The kitchen cabinetry was extended into the living area to create even more storage with a generous sideboard & underbench cupboards to the window.
State of the art cooking appliances selected included a steam wall oven, PITT cooking gas cooktop & integrated fridge, allowing the family to enjoy fresh healthy home cooked meals.
The design approach for the kitchen was continued through to the main bathroom & ensuite renovation.
