Collaroy Plateau Interior Design Project

Hampton Style Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry, Laundry & Powder Room

Perched on the ridge of Collaroy Plateau, this charming family home enjoys sweeping ocean views from its upper level. While rich in ornate detailing, the interiors needed a reimagined layout to better connect with the back garden and create a relaxed, functional hub for family life.

Our design relocated the kitchen, added a butler’s pantry, created a hidden laundry and powder room, and opened the spaces to a generous outdoor entertaining deck. The result is a cohesive Hampton style transformation that combines elegance, practicality, and coastal charm.

Hampton Style Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry

Relocated to the rear of the house, the new kitchen now connects directly to the garden and outdoor deck, becoming the heart of family life. The former kitchen was reinvented as a spacious butler’s pantry, offering abundant storage and functionality.

Key features:

  • Hampton style cabinetry with shaker doors and classic chrome shell handles
  • Marble-inspired Caesarstone benchtops with opal and pale green marble subway tile splashback
  • Pendant lighting with chrome accents above the island
  • Butler’s pantry with under-bench wine fridge and generous storage
  • Casement windows with coloured glass lights to bring natural light and ambience
  • Muted coastal palette achieved with a combination of Porters Paints

Outdoor Entertaining

The kitchen flows seamlessly onto the new deck, designed for both everyday family use and larger gatherings.

Key features:

  • Large hooded BBQ as a centrepiece for outdoor cooking
  • Under-bench wine fridge built into deck cabinetry
  • Adjustable louvre windows to control light and ventilation
  • Comfortable outdoor living and dining areas for entertaining

Hidden European Laundry

Positioned near the new outdoor deck for easy garden access, the European laundry is concealed behind bi-fold shaker doors, blending seamlessly into the kitchen design.

Key features:

  • Discreet bi-fold doors that mimic pantry cabinetry
  • Consistent shaker doors, chrome handles, and subway splashback tiles
  • Dedicated storage and single basin sink for laundry use
  • Task lighting automatically activated when the doors open

Hampton Style Powder Room

On the ground floor, the powder room reflects the same design language as the kitchen and laundry, ensuring a consistent look throughout the home.

Key features:

  • Custom-made shaker vanity with generous cupboard and drawer storage
  • Chrome Kado tapware, pull knobs, and shell handles
  • Modern Fienza on-bench basin
  • Opal and pale green marble subway tile splashback
  • Large framed mirror to enhance space and light

Seamlessly Connected Coastal Spaces

Together, the kitchen, butler’s pantry, laundry, powder room, and outdoor entertaining deck form a harmonious whole. Consistent materials, cabinetry, and detailing tie the spaces together, creating a coastal-inspired Hampton style home that feels both timeless and perfectly suited to family living.
